SUMMARY:The Justice Conference
DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS THE JUSTICE CONFERENCE?\nThe Justice Conference is a global movement. It’s Jesus-followers engaging in conversation in pursuit of biblical justice. \nWe gather scholars\, speakers and artists to help us pursue this goal\, and engage the whole Church in the Justice Conversation. \nWHAT’S HAPPENING IN 2020?\nCovid-19 has disrupted our lives\, but it’s also giving us opportunity to revisit what we do and how we do it. Here in Aotearoa\, instead of a physical conference\, we’ve moved online. October 31st from10am-3pm\, will be our first Online Conference! \nInstead of gathering physically in one building in one city\, we’re inviting the whole Church to participate like never before by hosting Watch Parties in auditoriums\, cafes\, living rooms and various other spaces up and down the country! \nWHAT’S THE THEME?\nOur theme is “Ki Te Whenua”\, taken from a Māori translation of Te Karakia o te Atua (The Lord’s Prayer). This karakia is rich with themes such as worhsip\, confession\, ethics\, reconciliation\, and mission. Our exciting gathering of speakers will explore these themes from many perspectives.

SUMMARY:New Hope Online Schools Conference
DESCRIPTION:An online schools-work Conference hosted by Prayer Spaces in Schools and Youthscape. \n“It is our plan\,” says the UK Government’s website\, “that all pupils\, in all year groups\, will return to school full-time from the beginning of the autumn term.” \nSo\, it’s back to normal then? Well… not quite. \nSocial distancing. Year group bubbles. Enhanced risk assessments. “Robust hand and respiratory hygiene” guidance. Visitor restrictions. School is definitely going to look a lot different in the next academic year because of the ongoing global impact of the Covid-19 virus. And this means the way that churches and Christian organisations offer support to schools will need to change too. \nAnd of course\, there are big questions about the impact that these last few months have had on children and young people. For some\, it’s been a safe and enjoyable time\, while for others\, it’s been acutely challenging and traumatic. As these children and young people return to schools in the coming months\, the need for pastoral\, safeguarding and wellbeing services is likely to be high. \nThere are certainly going to be challenges\, but we want to face them with new hope\, and navigate our way through them into a better future. \n“I have plans for you\,” said the Lord to Jeremiah\, “plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) \nBOOK YOUR TICKET HERE.

SUMMARY:We're all in this together — renewing our capacity for connection & community — a Circle of Trust weekend retreat in Tauranga

What are the things that isolate us? \nNumbers are limited\, so please register early. \n$315.00 Early bird registration (by 31 July 2020) \n$350.00 Full registration \nTo register or find out more please go to https://mcusercontent.com/dd53f8059c5e2be66151fbc2a/files/d679e5cd-185c-4eae-9d09-c77fa141585c/Brochure_We_re_all_in_this_together_2020.01.pdf

SUMMARY:The Abbey
DESCRIPTION:The Abbey is the national Anglican youth ministry conference: a place for all Anglican youth leaders to gather\, train and be encouraged. Meet\, laugh\, worship with and learn from other youth leaders from Anglican churches around NZ who love following Jesus and developing young people (Subsidies available) \nJESUS\, YOU BREAK DOWN THE WALLS THAT DIVIDE. \nPaul said it in Ephesians 2:14\, and it’s written in our prayer book too. Jesus is the wall-breaker. Like a Fale\, The Church is meant to be a house without walls. We are called to be a structure that shelters\, a place that the world can see right into\, and a family that can never gather without being aware of a hurting world beyond us. This has never been more true than in our current global moment of Covid-19. \nThis year The Abbey gathers together Anglican youth leaders and young adults from across the Pacific to learn together to be a people that dismantles the walls that divide in Aotearoa\, New Zealand and Polynesia. Walls that separate our young people from their communities\, indigenous peoples from their whenua\, and of course our own hearts from the God who loves us.

SUMMARY:COSAC 2020 A Hopeful Future? Christians\, Creation and the AI World
DESCRIPTION:12th ISCAST Conference on Science and Christianity | 10–12 July 2020 \nFaith – Climate Change – Anxiety – Ethics – Posthumanism – Hope – Energy – Gene Editing – Artificial Intelligence Sustainability – Love\nPlanet Earth and its inhabitants face a paradoxical future. Increasing threats to the creation sit alongside the extraordinary possibilities that science and technology offer: species extinction and climate change alongside gene editing and dreams of humanity 2.0. In the face of anxiety and bewilderment\, Jesus Christ offers hope. \nWhat does it mean to be a Christian in the 21st century? What does it mean to be faithful to Christ in a time of “eco-anxiety” when patterns of consumption seem unsustainable and damaging to the creation? What does it mean to be a Christian in a time when many people look forward optimistically to “the singularity” and the transhuman possibilities of overcoming the limitations of the human body? What does it mean to live in a time of climate change and CRISPR\, of animal extinction and AI? \nUnder the overall theme of “A Hopeful Future?” this important Australian conference will take up these urgent global challenges. How do we think and live faithfully in such a world\, and what sort of hope does Christian theology offer? \nWe hope you will join us at COSAC 2020! \nFor more information visit https://iscastcosac.org/ \nTo register visit https://iscast.wildapricot.org/event-3791677
