Stephanie Clay
St Margaret’s College
Chapel life is at the heart of the school. St Margaret’s College is an Anglican school and we are a faith inclusive community. It is likely that the Chapel with the school crest will be the first building you see as you enter the school grounds off Winchester Street. At Chapel Services, our Chaplain, Stephanie Clay, inspires and challenges students with stories from many faith traditions; prayers for wisdom, compassion, healing and comfort are offered; our senior students lead the worship. Parents and families are welcome and encouraged to attend the Sunday evening services with the students. Family life is a central part of our community.
Our Chaplain also teaches religious education classes and helps students at each age level to understand aspects of Christian tradition and how faith relates to everyday life. Topics include belonging, caring, forgiving, thanking, serving, remembering and hoping. Knowing about religion, philosophy and ethics is not only valuable to finding meaning in life, it is also essential for any broad education and foundational for other subjects, from art to English and history.
