Blythe Cody is Chaplain at Southwell School, a co-educational school for Years 1–8 in Hamilton, where she oversees the Christian Education programme and leads the school’s pastoral care and chaplaincy.

The school gathers four mornings each week for worship, story and reflection, weaving karakia, scripture and parables into a rhythm of gathering, wondering, storytelling and creative response. The Christian Education programme spans Years 1-8 with weekly lessons ranging from parable-based explorations of the Kingdom of God with the youngest students through to units on discipleship, the structure of the Church, and personal identity for senior students. She is currently developing a senior student programme grounded in mātauranga Māori concepts of spirituality, wellbeing and leadership.

Blythe holds degrees in Psychology and Theology, along with leadership and executive coaching certification. Her ministry experience spans cathedral and parish settings as well as senior formational leadership, including a previous role as Manutaki Tūāpapa (Director of Formation) at St Johns Theological College.

Blythe is committed to nurturing the spiritual, emotional and personal wellbeing of every student, fostering a school community grounded in faith, care and belonging.
