St Matthew’s Collegiate School
St Matthew’s Collegiate School is a state integrated Anglican Special Character school for girls. The Anglican Special Character at St Matthew’s permeates all that we do and is the platform upon which we stand. We seek to offer students opportunities to meet with and walk with their Triune God.
Through weekly chapel services, special chapel services, youth groups, night prayers, and close relationship building, our goal is to unpack who and what God is, how and why God wants to connect with us and through the Christian world view, who we are and what God has for us.
Our aim is to teach and model the values of Faith, Service and Sacrifice. Furthermore our school upholds the values of Commitment, Inclusiveness, Respect, Compassion, and Integrity. These values are embedded in everything we do.
Deeply connected to our Anglican heritage, we are also connected to and uphold the five marks of mission of the Church of the Province of the Pacific. These are:
To Tell – Proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God.
To Teach – Teach, baptise and nurture new believers.
To Tend – Respond to human need by loving service.
To Transform – Transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind, and pursue peace and reconciliation.
To Treasure – Strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth.
We are serious about the spiritual journey of our students and wider community. By doing this we are endeavouring to become more like the model set by Jesus, living humbly with our God.
